With over 1,700 km of first-category waterways and about thirty high-altitude lakes, the Hautes-Alpes are a prime destination for anglers of all levels. Lake Serre-Ponçon, just a stone’s throw from the campsite, is home to trout, pike, whitefish, and perch. It has been awarded the Parcours Passion label since 2018 by the French National Fishing Federation and the Hautes-Alpes Fishing Federation.
Embrun’s lake offers, in addition to its beaches and leisure areas, an accessible fishing pontoon and activities supervised by certified instructors. From Savines-le-Lac and its fishermen’s hut to Les Eygoires and the Durance River, each site allows you to explore a different facet of mountain fishing.

The National Parks
A few kilometers from our nature and fishing campsite in the Hautes-Alpes, the Écrins National Park is full of trails suitable for observing alpine wildlife.
Recently, you can benefit for free from the Écrins hiking app, developed by the park to help you organize your hikes with a single click. This tool offers around a hundred hiking itineraries with map excerpts and numerous photos, and the added bonus is the sheet export service! You can either print your hiking sheets or download them to your smartphone and consult them offline at your leisure.

The many reception points of the Écrins National Park (Maison du Parc in Châteauroux-les-Alpes, Tour Brune in Embrun, seasonal reception and information center in Les Gourniers) allow you to discover magnificent photo exhibitions of the park’s treasures. You can also obtain high-quality documentation on the flora and fauna of the Écrins.
The Boscodon Forest
The Boscodon Forest, spanning 850 hectares between 980 and 2,400 m in altitude, envelops you in a soothing silence. Preserved by the climate, it ranks among the purest forests in France. As such, it has just obtained the Exceptional Forest label, which will allow it to develop innovative practices in sustainable forest heritage management. Scots pines, hook pines, common spruces, European larches, and silver firs coexist with rare species. The richness of this forest is remarkable and invites you to explore!
Lakes and Rivers of the Hautes-Alpes
Between tumultuous torrents and tranquil lakes, the fishing spots are varied: fly fishing at high altitudes, lure fishing in the lake’s backwaters, or line fishing in rivers depending on the season.
The Liou Wetland
Accessible on foot from the campsite, the Liou wetland is a biodiversity reserve and a privileged observation site. It also constitutes an important fish breeding area, as highlighted by the Hautes-Alpes Fishing Federation.
